Outstanding Sophomore/Junior Awards

The Leadership Board of the College of Arts and Sciences recognizes students who have excelled on campus through their Outstanding Sophomore and Outstanding Junior Awards. In making its annual spring selections, the committee will look at the applicant’s extraordinary character and maturity, leadership, well-rounded experiences including strong academic performance and involvement in curricular and co-curricular activities.

 

For the Outstanding Sophomore Award, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Must have completed 30-60 UA hours
  2. Must have 3.5 or higher cumulative UA GPA
  3. Must be enrolled full time as an on campus student pursuing first bachelor degree

 

For the Outstanding Junior Award, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Must have completed 60-90 UA hours
  2. Must have 3.5 or higher cumulative UA GPA
  3. Must be enrolled full time as an on campus student pursuing first bachelor degree

 

In addition, applicants must submit the following:

  1. Essay (350 words) describing your commitment to education and obstacles you have overcome in pursuit of higher education (include name and CWID on essay)
  2. Resume including student name, CWID, mailing address, email and phone number.

 

There may be more than one recipient for each award.  The total scholarship amount awarded may range between $500 and $2,500.  The recipient(s) will be recognized at the College’s Honors Day Convocation on Friday, April 7, 2017 and the scholarship will be applied to the 2017-2018 academic year.
