Embrace Tuscaloosa

Hosted by the College of Arts and Sciences, Embrace Tuscaloosa is an annual day of service involving students, faculty, and staff.
The College of Arts and Sciences prepares students to become productive, civic-minded citizens who serve their communities both now and in the future. Engage Alabama is an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to learn about local issues and contribute to communities in West Alabama.
Each year, the College hosts a homecoming tent near Denny Chimes featuring hands-on activities for students, faculty, staff, and members of the community.
Each year, the College participates in the Tinsel Trail, a special holiday celebration sponsored by Tuscaloosa One Place. Organized by the A&S Ambassadors, students are invited to stop by Clark Hall and decorate an ornament for the tree.
Housed in New College, the civic engagement and leadership minor is designed for students wishing to become outstanding leaders and citizens. There is a track for Army and Air Force ROTC students and a general track for all others.
Students complete two foundation courses and then build a concentration focusing on topics such as politics and development, conflict resolution, for-profit and non-profit organizational leadership, and human relations.
