Community Engagement

The College of Arts and Sciences prepares students to become productive, civic-minded citizens who serve their communities both now and in the future. We foster a spirit of personal and social responsibility, developing student leaders who contribute to the greater good in Alabama, across the nation, and around the world.

Get Involved

Develop and practice your leadership skills while engaging with the community.

Housed in New College, the civic engagement and leadership minor is designed for students wishing to become outstanding leaders and citizens. There is a track for Army and Air Force ROTC students and a general track for all others.

Students complete two foundation courses and then build a concentration focusing on topics such as politics and development, conflict resolution, for-profit and non-profit organizational leadership, and human relations.
