ASSURE Program

Arts & Sciences Support for Undergraduate Research (ASSURE), a unit of the College of Arts and Sciences, provides funding for undergraduate research and creative activity. The program has two primary goals:

  • To support and enhance the integrative research and creative activity of students and their A&S faculty mentors
  • To highlight the outstanding contributions of such activities

ASSURE awards funding each spring and fall semester, with amounts of up to $1000.

Proposals

ASSURE welcomes proposals from undergraduate students and student-faculty collaborations within the College of Arts and Sciences.

Funding will be considered for any project-related need, including travel, equipment, supplies, exhibitions, presentations, conferences, meetings, etc. (ASSURE will not fund faculty or student salaries). The proposed funding should enhance and stimulate student research and creative activity at The University of Alabama.

ASSURE will not give priority to students or faculty based on the stage of their careers. However, the student-faculty research or activity effort must demonstrate that the level of student experience is satisfactory to achieve success in the project outcomes and that the student has initiated or played a prominent role (depending on the standards of the respective discipline) in the project proposal and design.
