Walker County Internship

Are you a student interested in public sector work, non-profit leadership and civic engagement related fields? If so, you should look into the Walker County internship through New College! It is a an eight-week embedded civic engagement internship that New College administers in partnership with the Walker Area Community Foundation and the David Mathews Center for Civic Life. Students have worked with a wide range of organizations in the area, that work on issues like public health, workforce readiness, literacy, downtown revitalization, and even recreation. There will be a scheduled information session / lunch with community partners and former interns on a TBD date in October. If you want to talk more about this amazing opportunity Ms. Jennifer Richardson holds information sessions weekly on Tuesday from 2:30-3:30, and on Wednesdays from 4-5; or, you can make an appointment via email: jnrichardson3@ua.edu.
